WHO WE ARE
Alma Greca was founded by Effrosyni Athinaki with a great passion and love. Our vision is all our students to learn how to communicate in Greek and get in touch with the Greek-Cypriot culture. Through our lessons you will learn the language, you will taste the traditional Greek-Cypriot food and even learn (if you choose it) how to cook it. You will experience all the aspects of being a Greek-Cypriot, you will visit all the beautiful places in the island and you will be able to use Greek in our social activities and excursions in different places like greek taverns, shops, café and bars. In the end of our lessons you will feel like a Greek-Cypriot and you will fall in love with this paradise island.
Our courses can be both group and private, standardized or customized, and can be offered at our premises or at your own workplace. Also we tailor courses that cater to the needs of your business field for helping you develop the language skills which are necessary for your profession. According to many researches teaching in a fun and pleasant learning environment is paramount in language learning. Therefore we integrate into our lessons various fun learning activities such as games, excursions, movies, greek/greek-cypriot dances etc. Indeed, whether learning for pleasure, for work, or for any other specific reason, learning can only be effective when it is made fun.

Testimonials

“As a teacher myself, I know the effort, patience and energy required to do this job well. In 13 years of working in schools, Froso has been one of the best teachers I have had the pleasure of meeting and I cannot recommend her enough as a language teacher. She is a warm, friendly and extremely organized teacher who is well prepared for each lesson and goes out of her way to provide interesting and relevant materials such as games, poetry and videos – a welcome change from routine textbook activities. Greek is not easy and at times I felt like giving up but she was extremely sympathetic and encouraging. She is a knowledgeable teacher, but most importantly she is one who really cares about her students.”

“Every country got it’s own culture, a big part off it is in the language. Learning it gives you a overwhelming feeling of joy and empathy for the native speakers. The only right way to learn such a special language is with someone motivated, competent, driven by a huge passion for her country, language and the art of teaching. Don’t look any further, you got your teacher”
